No-claim bonus in health insurance, explained
In shortA no-claim bonus (or cumulative bonus) adds to your sum insured for each year you don’t make a claim, at no extra premium, often 10% to 50% a year up to a set maximum.
The bonus is printed on your renewal schedule, usually next to the sum insured. A ₹5 lakh policy with a ₹2 lakh bonus can pay up to ₹7 lakh.
In many policies a claim reduces the bonus again. Read how yours works before you count on it.

Do I lose the bonus if I port my policy?
Ask before you switch: insurers treat an accrued bonus differently when a policy moves to them.
